Ashok Shaw did his Bachelors in Geology (Honours) from the University of Calcutta and obtained his Masters in Applied Geology from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Currently, he is doing his PhD from Department of Geology & Geophysics, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He has a keen interest in fluvial sedimentology & stratigraphy with particular emphasis on their application to hydrogeology, urban underground storage and 3D geomodelling. His work involves extensive fieldwork viz., geological and geotechnical drilling, sedimentary and structural outcrop studies as well as geochemical and petrographical analysis, and geo-scientific modelling in the lab.
