Quantification and prediction of groundwater quality in varying spatial and temporal scales
I have completed my B.Tech in Civil Engineering and M.Tech in Environmental Engineering and Management and currently doing research on groundwater quality from Indian Institute of technology Kharagpur. I have been passionate for studying and exploring the field of groundwater while doing my masters. In India, majority of population, especially the rural population, is dependent on groundwater for drinking and other daily purposes. Most of the agricultural needs of water is met by groundwater. This dependency on groundwater requires sincere monitoring of our groundwater resources both quantitative and qualitative ways. I have joined as a research scholar with the focus to study the groundwater quality in the aquifer systems of India, especially concentrating on the occurrence of inorganic pollutants and their release mechanism in groundwater. I am studying the application of state-of-the-art computational methods for predicting the concentration of such inorganic pollutants in groundwater.
